Project started at the Food Industry Competence Center

SIA “Pērnes L” begins to implement the research project “Development of innovative oven-baked puffed type chip products and technology in the company”.

The research aims to develop a new, technologically innovative and health-oriented oven-baked puffed type chip product made from corn, rice, and local peas. During the project, a new production technology will be developed and improved, the product recipe optimized, and pilot production carried out to create an exportable, high value-added snack product that offers a healthier alternative to traditional potato chips.

The research project is being implemented within the framework of the Food Industry Competence Center's Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.

Implementation period: 01.01.2026–31.12.2026.

Total project budget: 348,380.00 EUR, of which EU funding - 185,333.00 EUR.
